MS. ORRBINE:
Onset of HUS had to be at least
six months before the testing began. First
language had to be English because,
unfortunately, at the time of the study the
psychometric assessments were only available in
English.
No history before the episode of
HUS of any mental retardation, neurological
abnormalities, chronic illnesses associated with
learning disabilities or no learning disabilities
or attention deficit disorders.
Of note, seizures or coma were
not necessary or sufficient reasons for
exclusion.
