DR. CORNEL:
      She stayed on the ventilator for another 10 days afterwards. The peritoneal dialysis continued for three weeks. They did not go back to hemodialysis, it didn't seem to be necessary and I wasn't sure about the decision making process of the nephrologists over that.
      Her heart continued to improve. She was started on captopril, this reduces the work of the heart, and in an acute failing heart captopril or some other pril are really drugs of first line these days.
      And as she progressed we did a series of echocardiograms in hospital and they clearly showed a return to essentially normal function.
