DR. CORNEL:
What is her current status? Well, physically, she is very active. She is an excellent swimmer and is well-coordinated. She has no current cardiac problems that we know about. She has hypertension but it is being well controlled with Enalopril.
Recently her creatinine clearance was borderline and she did have some evidence of nephron overuse. The dosage of Enalopril was adjusted or started and it was dramatically effective and her creatinine clearance has changed to virtually normal. The amount of proteinuria that she has is also markedly reduced.
She has great school reports. She has had learning problems, and she's required extra help with math. She is having continued problems with her gut, with abdominal symptoms and she has lost some weight lately, so there are real concerns that need to be resolved.
