      And then we're up to about 40 hours and feeling a bit desperate. I -- I gave her a large dose of epinephrin. It may have been larger than I intended, I think, but we -- we had given this before. We needed to adjust the blood pressure and I thought I would give her a bit more and just see if the heart could do anything.
      And it could! The heart started to contract more vigorously. And for the first time in all this period we suddenly started seeing a little bit of a pulse on our monitors.
