DR. CORNEL:
But the next day, there was
rapid deterioration. She became very edematous.
She virtually stopped putting out urine and was
no response to Lasix.
Her hemoglobin at this time
remained stable at around 110 grams but the
platelets fell to a really low level, around 30.
She developed petechial rash. Petechiae are
little hemorrhages that look a bit like measles.
It is a sign of low platelet count. Her
creatinine level went from 64 in SI units to 164
in that 24-hour period.
