How do we study the after-effects or the sequelae of HUS? These are the primary factors we look at to assess the renal effects of HUS. Again, you look at the glomeruli filtration rate. You look at proteinuria (urine protein excretion) on the urinalysis, in particular, because it's a marker for hyperfiltration; blood pressure; and sometimes renal biopsy.
