      So these kids look like they have a complete recovery, but what happens five years later? If the acute course of HUS was mild, a child may have a couple of areas of permanent scar formation or maybe none and they probably have very minimal hyperfiltration.
      Other children with moderate to severe disease have more injury and scar formation and develop moderate hyperfiltration. Those with severe HUS probably have more significant hyperfiltration.
