      Here is a micrograph depicting the same process. Again, on the right is a nice, open glomerular capillary; this is normally filled with red blood cells and a very thin delicate membrane separates the blood from the urine.
      On the left, in thrombotic microangiopathy, we've got a thickened glomerular capillary and narrowed lumen.
