Now, as I said, it inactivates
lipid enveloped viruses. Now, this includes the
AIDS virus, Hepatitis B, HTLV and Hepatitis G
virus. The product is pooled and as a result
gives us consistent levels of coagulation
factors. It is filtered so it's leukocyte and
bacteria free.
It has an interesting advantage
or disadvantage, depending on your point of view,
in that it does not contain the higher molecular
rate forms of von Willebrand factor. These
appear to be removed by the filter during the
processes.
