Donna Rosenbaum

Executive Director

Donna was a co-founder of S.T.O.P. in 1993 and served as its first Executive Director for 3 years. She earned her degree in Neurobiology from Northwestern University, and had 12 years in healthcare management when E. coli disease claimed the life of her daughter’s best friend as the first victim in the Jack in the Box outbreak. Donna then became a lifelong and committed food safety advocate and spent 10 years as a food safety consultant. She returned as S.T.O.P.’s Executive Director in mid- 2007. She has been involved in all of S.T.O.P.’s program activities for nearly 15 years and has personally worked with thousands of victims of foodborne illness.

Margaret Quinn

Director of Outreach

Margaret is a 2003 graduate of Alfred University in Western New York. She has a BA in Communications and Business, but a long-lasting commitment to non-profit work. Her previous employment includes working for programs such as Camp Good Days and Special Times, the CURE Childhood Cancer Association and Rural Health Community Systems. She came to S.T.O.P. after being recommended to interview by a former employer and dear friend. She enjoys working on safe food issues but her favorite part of the job is her direct work with families across the country and providing them the assistance and resources they cannot get anywhere else.

Susan Vaughn Grooters

Public Health Specialist

Susan received her Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Vermont in Nutrition and Food Sciences, and then worked with S.T.O.P. for a few years in the Burlington office before following her passion for public health in a graduate program. Susan received her Master’s of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2008 and has re-joined S.T.O.P. She brings a wealth of knowledge and concern to her work with victims of foodborne disease and to S.T.O.P.’s public health research projects. In her spare time she enjoys playing classical chamber music, traveling, snowboarding, and yoga.

Gail Stephens

Administrative Assistant

Gail holds a B.S. in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University. Her studies focused on human development and psychological services. Prior to working at S.T.O.P., Gail worked for Cardinal Intellectual Property in the sales department, and before that, in the Work/Life Department at Baxter Healthcare, where she organized and managed philanthropic initiatives. She also worked for the Social Services Department at the New York City Housing Authority. Gail is passionate about helping others. She looks forward to making a difference in preventing illness and death from foodborne pathogens.
